Niekamp Arena

Niekamp Arena inside Croy Physical Education Center has been home to Oiler men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball since 1970. The facility contains six locker rooms plus a number of administrative offices that are used during competitions. Houdeshell Court is located inside Niekamp Arena and used for basketball and volleyball competitions. Niekamp Arena is widely considered to be one of the top facilities and the most exciting atmosphere for players, coaches and fans in the Midwest Region.

During the exhibition game against Toledo on October 27, 2019, the university paid tribute to the longstanding men's basketball coach, Ron Niekamp, by officially naming the basketball arena in his honor. Coach Niekamp dedicated 26 years to UF from 1985 to 2011, achieving an impressive record of 598 wins and 185 losses. Notably, he led the team to a flawless season in 2008-2009 with a perfect 36-0 record, ultimately securing a D-II National Championship.
