INFORMATION
The Findlay Athletic Communications Office is available to assist you with coverage of all 22 Oilers athletic teams. The Athletic Communications Office is located in Croy Physical Education Center. All request should be directed to
Kyle Niermann, Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs.
CREDENTIALS
Press and photo credentials for athletic contests should be requested
AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. Seating is limited to working press only.
INTERVIEWS
All interviews with players and coaches should be arranged through the Athletic Communications Office. Please allow at least 24 hours to set up interviews. Arrangements will be made for telephone and in-person interviews at a mutually-agreeable time.
PHOTOGRAPHERS
General Guidelines
Credentials (media and photography passes) issued by University of Findlay Athletics are required to cover Findlay Athletics at all home sporting events. Credentials are provided to working members of the media to assist in the coverage of Findlay Athletics. Credentials do not imply any guarantee of access, are valid only for the duration noted on the credential, are non-transferable, and are revocable at the sole discretion of Findlay Athletics. Loaning or transferring credentials may result in immediate permanent revocation of media credentials and ejection from the event for both the original holder and the unauthorized user. Credentials must be displayed at all times during the event.
Application & Eligibility
All media credential applications should be emailed to the primary sport contact no less than two business days before the event. Media credentials may be issued to working members of the media representing recognized outlets whose primary function is news gathering and sports reporting. Eligible outlets include established newspapers, websites, magazines, wire services, television stations, and radio broadcasts.
Credentials will not typically be issued to representatives whose outlet exists solely as a social platform for distributing unoriginal or aggregated content. Freelancers will not be credentialed unless explicitly contracted by an eligible media organization or a visiting team's athletic communications department. In accordance with NCAA policy, credentials will not be issued to any outlet whose primary coverage is gambling or bookmaking.
- Football: Photographers are allowed to shoot from the 30-yard line to the back of the end zone on both sides of the field. Photographers are not allowed on the game field or at the bench areas during contests. Locker room access is prohibited.
- Basketball / Volleyball: Photographers are allowed to shoot in designated areas on the court. Photographers are not allowed on the game court or in the bench areas during contests. Locker room access is prohibited.
Sideline Safety & Space Limitations
Due to limited space along sidelines, end zones, and court boundaries, sideline access is restricted strictly to credentialed media actively covering the game. For the safety of student-athletes, coaches, game officials, and media personnel, all photographers and videographers must remain behind designated media boundary lines at all times. Infraction of this instruction will result in the loss of a credential and immediate removal from the contest.
Monopods, tripods, light stands, and heavy gear must not obstruct player movement, team bench areas, scorer's tables, or athletic training stations. Findlay Athletics staff reserve the right to relocate or restrict media personnel at any time if space constraints create a safety hazard or impede the conduct of the competition.
POST-GAME INTERVIEWS
Interviews at the conclusion of all home athletic events will be held after the NCAA-mandated ten minute cooling off period.
