Sevierville, Tenn. - The University of Findlay men's golf team remained in third on Monday, March 13, the second day of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by Tennessee Tech University and held at the par-72, 6,880-yard River Course at the Sevierville Golf Club.
The Oilers posted a second-round score of 294 (+6), putting them in a tie for third with a 36-hole score of 581 (+5).
Junior Justin Atkinson led the way again on Monday after a 67 (-5) in Sunday's opening round. Atkinson made four birdies on his way to posting a 70 (-2) for a 36-hole total of 137 (-7). That two-round score is the fourth-best 36-hole score in program history and has Atkinson in a tie for second.
Senior Tanner Grzegorczyk shot 74 (+2) on Monday and is in a tie for 23rd with a 147 (+3) while senior Hunter Foltz is in a tie for 37th with a 149 (+5) after shooting 77 (+5) today.
Senior Caleb Westfall is tied for 48th after carding a 76 (+4) and sophomore Tyler Vallee is in T65 after a 74 (+2) gave him a 36-hole score of 155 (+11).
Playing as an individual, junior Donnie Professori shot 77 (+5) and is now in a tie for 37th with a 36-hole score of 149 (+5).
The final round will be played tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14, with a shotgun start at 10:30 am.
