Indianapolis, Ind. - On Wednesday, May 15, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) named its' annual winners of the league's most prestigious award, the Collegiate Achievement Award. Findlay men's swimmer
Tim Stollings has been named as the male recipient. He is the first male student-athlete at Findlay to be selected for the honor.
The G-MAC annually honors a male and a female outgoing senior student-athlete with the Collegiate Achievement Award. This award is based on an individual's academic excellence, athletic achievements, character, leadership and engagement within the community and conference. The 2023-24 academic year represents the tenth annual presentation of the award and is the highest honor a Great Midwest student-athlete can receive.
In the pool, Tim's accomplishments speak volumes about his dedication, work ethic, and talent. The Prichard, West Virginia native is a two-time NCAA DII National Champion in the 100 butterfly, has collected 27 all-American awards, 16 of which were first-team honors, won 28 G-MAC individual titles, earned four G-MAC Athlete of the Year and Swimmer of the Meet selections, and helped lead the team to five conference championships.
Academically, he is also a two-time academic all-district and all-American pick, the 2021-22 G-MAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, and was named as this year's male recipient of Findlay's Mancuso Award.
With what little free time he had, Stollings gave back to the community, heading up the Oilers' Swim School. As the manager, he helped organize and schedule events for local youth who used Sink Natatorium as a place to learn how to swim.
Head coach
Diego Santos said,
"I'm extremely proud of everything Tim has accomplished through his career here at UF, and I'm very happy to have been a part of his journey. Tim is easily one of the best people I've gotten the chance to coach and the impact he has made here at Findlay, in the pool and out of the pool, is very hard to put into words. Tim has always been and will always be someone that embodies all of the best attributes of the ideal student-athlete."
