Men:Â The Findlay men's team enters the G-MAC Championship ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 2 in the Midwest Region. The Oilers will look to carry their momentum into the championship meet after capturing first place at the JennaStrong Fall Classic on October 16 and following it up with another team victory at the Go Fast River Run on October 24.
Junior Asher Long has been one of the top performers for the Oilers this fall. His season has been highlighted by an individual victory at the Rumble in the Fort 6K, where he clocked a time of 18:25.1 to earn his first collegiate individual title. Fellow junior Benjamin Hall has also put together an impressive campaign. The Bolton, England native turned in a career-best performance at the Lewis Crossover, placing 12th with a personal-best 8K time of 24:30.7. His time now ranks as the fourth-fastest 8K performance in program history. In addition to etching his name into the record book, Hall's performance earned him G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors.
Men's Lineup
Women:Â On the women's side, the Oilers enter the championship meet ranked No. 6 in the Midwest Region. Findlay has also made its presence felt in the national rankings this season, opening the year at No. 25 before climbing as high as No. 15 the following week.
Leading the way for the Oilers throughout the fall has been junior Lauren Sattler. She opened her season with back-to-back individual victories, capturing first place at both the Beaver Dam Invitational 5K and the Rumble in the Fort 6K. Her performance at the Rumble in the Fort earned her G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors. The Defiance, Ohio native appears to be hitting her stride at the right time, most recently placing fourth at the Go Fast River Run 6K with a time of 21:22.5. That performance established a new 6K program record for Findlay.
Fifth-year runner Ella Webster also enters the championship meet with momentum. Webster posted a time of 21:52.5 at the Go Fast River Run, finishing with the seventh-fastest 6K time in program history and adding another strong performance to the Oilers' season.
