Tennis Dominates at KWC | Wins 7-0

Owensboro, Ky. - The No. 47 University of Findlay men's tennis team delivered a flawless road performance, sweeping Kentucky Wesleyan College 7-0 in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup on Saturday, APril 4 at Centre Court in Owensboro, Ky. The Oilers are now 10-6 overall and 5-1 in G-MAC play.

The Oilers asserted their dominance immediately in doubles play, sweeping all three flights to secure the opening point. Clement Andrieu and Grant Hawkins were the first off the court, cruising to a 6-1 victory over Nick Stoever and Max Jody at the No. 1 flight. Maneo Gaborin and Maxwell Hosey quickly clinched the doubles point for Findlay with a matching 6-1 win over Adryan Taylor and Caleb Stovall at No. 3 doubles. Nicolo Lippolis and Aleksander Ivancevic completed the doubles sweep shortly after, defeating Miguel Perlaza and Jose Ferrandis 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.

Carrying a 1-0 advantage into singles competition, Findlay did not drop a single set across all six flights to complete the 7-0 shutout.

Runa Kagoshima set the pace in singles, making exceptionally quick work of Caleb Stovall with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 flight. Clement Andrieu followed up with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 win over Nick Stoever at No. 2 singles. Soh Kuyama then officially clinched the dual match for the Oilers at the top flight, dispatching Jose Ferrandis 6-4, 6-1.

With the team victory secured, Findlay kept the pressure on. Matthis Veniard delivered a perfect "double-bagel" performance at No. 4 singles, shutting out Adryan Taylor 6-0, 6-0. Maneo Gaborin picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Marcos Tiferes at the No. 5 spot, and Maxwell Hosey rounded out the perfect afternoon for Findlay with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Max Jody at No. 6 singles.

Findlay is back in action on Saturday, April 11 with a home match against Walsh.
