Allendale, Mich. – The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up its season-opening tournament on Tuesday, September 15, finishing 11th out of 18 teams at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview hosted by Grand Valley State University at The Meadows.

The Oilers carded a final-round team score of 295 (+11) on the par-71 course to bring their three-round total to 892 (+40).

Senior Colin Schadek led the Findlay team lineup across all three rounds, matching his second-round score with another even-par 71 on Tuesday. Schadek moved up 15 spots on the final day to finish tied for 15th overall with a 54-hole total of 218 (+5).

Competing as an individual, sophomore Ross Dietz posted the lowest score of the tournament for the Oilers. Dietz, last year's Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Medalist, fired a 2-under 69 in the final round, his second consecutive sub-par round, to jump 11 spots into a tie for seventh place with a 214 (+1) total.

Junior Cahle Roth finished tied for 34th overall at +10 (223) after recording a final-round 75 (+4). Individual competitor freshman Sawyer O'Grady matched Roth's overall total of 223 (+10), also posting a 75 (+4) on Tuesday to end tied for 34th.

Sophomore Luke Siefker shot his third straight round of 75 (+4) to finish tied for 47th at +12 (225). Junior Cody Widener carded a 74 (+3) in his final 18 holes to move up to a tie for 54th at +13 (226).

Junior Carson Foltz produced his best performance of the tournament in the final round, bouncing back with a 75 (+4) to finish tied for 101st at +25 (238).

Findlay is back in action on Monday and Tuesday, Sep. 21-22, playing in The Pines CC Collegiate Invite hosted by the University of Charleston in West Virginia.
