Peru, Ind. - The University of Findlay men's golf team wrapped up play at the Midwest Collegiate on Tuesday, September 29, taking home their first tournament victory of the 2026-27 season. Battling back and forth with Grand Valley State throughout the final round, the Oilers used a late push to secure the team title.
The Orange and Black posted their second consecutive team score of 289 (+1), finishing the tournament with rounds of 284, 289, and 289.
Cahle Roth continued his strong play on day three, firing a 2-under-par 70 to finish the tournament with rounds of 68, 68, and 70. The junior's 54-hole score of 206 (-10) is the fourth-lowest mark in program history. Roth finished in a tie for first place and ultimately came up just short on the second hole of a playoff to determine the tournament medalist.
Ross Dietz followed Roth with a final-round score of 72 (E), finishing the tournament in a tie for sixth.
Finishing just one stroke apart were Colin Schadek and Luke Siefker. Schadek carded a 73 (+1) to finish in a tie for 38th, while Siefker recorded a 74 (+2) and finished in a tie for 35th.
Cody Widener rounded out the Findlay lineup with a 7-over-par 79 over the final 18 holes, finishing in a tie for 62nd.
Competing as an individual, Tate Armstrong finished with a round of 77 (+5) to finish the tournament at 2-over-par, good for a tie for 14th. Carson Foltz also competed as an individual, finishing the final round with an 87 (+15).

The Oilers will be back in action from October 5-6 for the Kyle Ryman Memorial, a two day event hosted by Tiffin at Mohawk Golf & Country Club.
