Derek Downs was hired as the Director of Compliance in December 2022, following his internship with the Oilers’ operations and compliance departments.

Downs earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and event management from the Bowling Green State University in 2021, he then obtained his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Findlay in 2022.

Prior to his time at Findlay, Downs was a member of the Bowling Green State University football team from 2017-2021. He was a member of the Mid-American Conference Academic teams in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He was a Bob James Memorial Award Nominee in 2021 and received the MAC President's Award in 2021.

A native of Westerville, Ohio, Derek resides in Perrysburg with his wife Ashley.
