Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, came away with an 80-59 victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio on Friday, November 21 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the Oilers a 2-0 record on the season and extends their regular season home winning streak to 60 games.
As a team, the Oilers shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) from the floor and connected on 8-of-22 (36.4%) of their three point attempts. They also did some damage from the free throw line, hitting 20-of-25 (80.0%) shots from the charity stripe.
Senior forward Josh Bostic, an all-American and the Preseason NCAA Division II Player of the Year, led the team with 23 points which included 19 in the second half.
Bostic scored the first seven points of the final period to break the game open and finished 6-of-11 from the field. He also hit 2-of-5 attempts from three point range and splashed 9-of-10 shots from the free throw line in the victory.
Senior forward Morgan Lewis also played exceptional for Findlay, scoring 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Senior center Lee Roberts added 11 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Marcus Parker chipped in 11 points, six assists, four rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks.
The Racers were paced by Josh Vorst's 19 points.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday, November 25 when they host Lake Erie College at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
