Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Tiffin University 106-65 on Thursday, January 22 in Tiffin, Ohio. The victory gives the Oilers a 15-0 record on the season with a 11-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers, who are off to their best start in school history, went over the 100 point plateau for the first time since scoring 105 in a victory over Indiana Technological University on November 24, 2007.
As a team, Findlay shot 61.5 percent (40-of-65) from the floor and out-rebounded the Dragons 46-27. The Oilers also dished out 21 assists, forced 20 turnovers and came up with 14 steals in the win.
Junior guard Marcus Parker led five Oilers in double figures with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
Senior forwards Josh Bostic and Morgan Lewis were right behind Parker in the scoring column as they both contributed 16 points.
Bostic added nine rebounds and five steals while Lewis recorded a career-high seven assists to go along with five boards and three steals.
Senior center Lee Roberts contributed 13 points and eight rebounds while sophomore forward Tyler Sparks came off the bench to record his first career double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
The Dragons were led by Donnell Patterson's 21 points.
Findlay will be back in action again on Saturday, January 24 when they travel to Ashland, Ohio to take on Ashland University at 3:00 p.m.
