Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked 10th in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Lake Erie College 84-56 on Tuesday, November 24 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 3-1 record on the season.
As a team, the Oilers shot 48.4 percent (31-of-64) from the floor and drilled 41.7 percent (10-of-24) of their attempts from three point range. They also out-rebounded the Storm 37-31 and came up with 14 steals and 23 assists in the game.
Junior guard Nathan Hyde led five Findlay players in double figures with 16 points to go along with a career-high tying seven rebounds and a career-high five assists.
Freshman guard Aaron Robinson came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points while senior guard Marcus Parker chipped in 11 points, five assists and three steals.
Sophomore forward Rob Marsden added ten points and five rebounds while freshman forward Jack Smith recorded ten points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.
Sophomore forward Greg Avery also played a well-rounded game, scoring six points to go along with seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists.
The Oilers will be back in action again on December 3 when they face Saginaw Valley State University. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. in University Center, Michigan.
