Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, blasted Ashland University 88-54 on Thursday, February 26 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 26-0 record on the season with a 21-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
As a team, the Oilers shot a blistering 55 percent (33-of-60) from the field and connected on 11-of-25 (44%) three point attempts. Findlay also pounded the Eagles on the glass, out-rebounding them 47-27 en route to their 72nd straight regular season win at home.
Senior forward Morgan Lewis and senior center Lee Roberts each recorded double-doubles for Findlay to lead the way.
Lewis finished with 19 points and ten rebounds while Roberts contributed 11 points and ten boards in the win.
All-American senior forward Josh Bostic stuffed the stat sheet again, putting up 18 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Sophomore guard Nathan Hyde added nine points while sophomore forward Tyler Sparks came off the bench to contribute nine points and seven rebounds.
Senior guard Aaron Laflin chipped in eight points and four assists while junior guard Marcus Parker tallied seven points and seven assists in the game.
The Eagles were led by Darius Brents and Tyler Rosenburger who scored 12 and ten points respectively.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday, February 28 when they host Tiffin University on Senior Day. The GLIAC contest is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
