Box Score The University of Findlay men's basketball team, ranked first in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, blasted Tiffin University 77-50 on Saturday, February 28 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory cemented the Oilers perfect regular season as they finished 27-0 with a 22-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The Oilers came out firing in the first half and jumped out to a 21-4 advantage at the 13:16 mark when sophomore guard Nathan Hyde connected on his third triple. Findlay eventually held a 43-22 lead at the break and put it in cruise control during the second half for their 73rd straight regular season home win.
As a team, Findlay shot 52.9 percent (27-of-51) from the floor and drained 11-of-22 (50%) of their three point tries. They also forced the Dragons into 19 turnovers and recorded 12 steals on defense.
Hyde led the way with 14 points, making all four of his three point attempts.
Senior forward Morgan Lewis had another strong game as well, scoring 11 points to go along with six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Senior guards Tyler Evans and Aaron Laflin along with senior center Lee Roberts and junior guard Marcus Parker each tallied nine points in the game.
All-American senior forward Josh Bostic added eight points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds to once again stuff the stat sheet.
The Dragons were led by Mohammed Fall's 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday, March 3 when they host Northwood University at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament.
