The University of Findlay baseball team traveled to Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) series that began on Saturday, April 26. The Oilers dropped both games, the first by a final of 2-1 and the second by a final of 6-2.

Game 1

Jon Walker took the tough luck loss in Game 1 as he pitched 7.1 innings and allowed a single run on five hits. He walked four and struck out two.

Derek Draper led Findlay on offense as he went 4-for-5 at the dish.

Game 2

The Lakers jumped out to a lead in the first inning, scoring a single run in the frame. The lead continued to grow as GVSU tallied six runs before the Oilers finally scored a pair in the top of the seventh, making the final score 6-2.

Austin Adams recorded a pinch hit single and a RBI while Dylan Cintula also knocked in a run.

Draper took the loss on the mound for Findlay after surrendering five runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings of work.

The two teams will play again tomorrow.
