Five walks in the first inning led to five runs and the Warriors never looked back as they would take the first contest of the day by a 7-1 final that saw Oilers pitchers allow 10 free bases over the course of the game.

The Oilers lone run came in the fourth inning when Peter Yorgen reached on an error and later scored on a throwing error by the Warriors short stop.

Wayne State would answer with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning which pushed their lead to its final, 7-1.

Collin Parrill (1-3) took the loss on the mound as he was only able to record one out and allowed five runs. He left the game with arm discomfort after a walk, the fifth of the inning.

Alexander Theiss pitched 4.1 innings out of the bullpen and allowed just two runs on six hits. He struck out five and walked one.

Findlay ended the game with one run on three hits. They committed one error.

Game 2: WSU 3 UF 2   Video Replay

A three-run third inning was all the Warriors needed en route to a 3-2 victory over the Oilers.

Findlay finally got on the board when they scored a single run in the sixth inning. With two outs, Logan Harrah singled and on the next pitch, Peter Yorgen smoked a double down the right field line, scoring Harrah and pulling the Oilers to within two at 3-1.

The bottom of the eighth inning looked to be the inning that the home team needed to tie the game or take the lead as it began with a walk to Miguel Valdez, a single from Josh Schwerer, and a walk to Jon Shollenberger. With the bases loaded and no outs, Yorgen roped a single to right field, scoring a run and making the score 3-2. The scoring would be cut short however as Warriors pitcher Jeff Sorenson induced a 3-2-3 double play and a strikeout.

Mason Mayberry (2-4) took the loss on the hill for the Oilers as he pitched five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits. He struck out five and walked one.

Colin Gossard pitched well in relief, picking up six strikeouts in just 3.2 innings of work.

Yorgen led the offense as he had two hits and two RBI in the game.

The Oilers will wrap up their season as they travel to Ohio Dominican for a GLIAC series that begins Saturday, April 2 at 1:00pm.
