#13 Oilers Bite #14 Bulldogs | Win 103-92

The 13th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team defeated 14th-ranked Ferris State University 103-92 on Nov. 20 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 4-0 record on the season.

The Oilers came out on fire and built a 36-20 lead within the first ten minutes of the game. The Bulldogs countered with a run of their own and after a barrage of three point shots, trailed Findlay 47-43 at the break.

In the opening half, the Bulldogs shot 58.1 percent (18-of-31) of their field goal attempts which included a 7-of-11 (53.8%) showing from three point range. The Oilers meanwhile made 52.9 percent (18-of-34) of their shot attempts and held an 18-11 advantage on the boards.

Both teams went back and forth in the second half until the Oilers went on a 12-3 run to open up a 90-77 advantage with under four minutes to play. The Oilers then hit their free throws down the stretch to pick up a big win in the early part of the season.

Findlay ended the game by shooting 54 percent (34-of-63) from the floor and 44 percent (11-of-25) from behind the three point line. The Bulldogs meanwhile converted 55 percent (33-of-60) of their shot attempts and made 12-of-22 (54.5%) attempts from three.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser led the squad with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting while senior forward Alex White recorded a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Freshman guard Ethan Linder came off the bench to provide a career-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while senior guard Trey Smith had 15 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco contributed 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting and sophomore forward Chazz George tied his career-high with 12 points off the bench.

DeShaun Thrower led the Bulldogs with 35 points on 12-of-16 shooting. He also canned 7-of-8 attempts from three point land.

The Oilers will be off until Nov. 26 when they welcome Northwood University to town for a 6pm contest.
