The 8th-ranked University of Findlay men's basketball team escaped Painesville, Ohio with a 71-68 win over Lake Erie College on Feb. 14. The victory gives the Oilers a 20-3 record on the season with a 14-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

The Oilers turned the ball over a season-high 18 times, but connected on 50.9 percent (27-of-53) of their shot attempts. They also held a 42-35 advantage on the boards and limited the Storm to a 36.8 percent (27-of-70) shooting clip.

Senior forward Alex White led the way with 16 points and six rebounds while sophomore forward Anthony Masterlasco had 14 points and five rebounds.

Sophomore forward Chazz George posted 13 points and six rebounds off the bench while senior guard Trey Smith reached double figures with ten points.

Junior forward Aaron Overhiser nearly reached double figures with eight points while freshman guard Ethan Linder recorded six.

The Storm were led by Gabe Kynard's game-high 24 points and nine rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action on Feb. 18 when they host Wilberforce University at 7pm in the Croy Physical Education Center.
