Ashland, OH- The University of Findlay baseball team played games 2 and 3, both 7 inning games, against the Ashland University Eagles on Saturday Apr 30. The Oilers looked to bounce back from a 1 run loss the day prior and move up in the G-MAC standings as the season winds down.
The Eagles took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a three-run homerun.
Findlay would put two runs on the board in the top of the third inning with a 2 RBI single by junior Cam Farrar that brought both senior Aiden Lao and senior Alex Foulks
The Oilers took the lead in the top of the 4th inning with a 2 RBI double from senior Alex Foulks that brought sophomore Andrew Micale and senior Christian Orr to give Findlay a 4-0 lead.
Ashland would tie the game back up in the 5th inning at 4 runs apiece for a while, sending the game into extra innings.
Ashland would walk the game off in the bottom of the 9th inning with a 2 out RBI single.
Senior Anthony Kyle started the game on the mound for the Oilers and threw 6.2 innings allowing 4 earned runs while striking out 7 batters. Freshmen Ashton Schroeder would come in out of the bullpen and throw 2 innings allowing one run in the loss.
