Oilers Earn Important Point with Tie at #22 Tiffin

Tiffin. Ohio – The University of Findlay men's soccer team went on the road to compete against the No. 22 Tiffin University Dragons this Tuesday, Oct. 31 for their last regular season game. The game ended in a tie 1-1. With this tie Findlay's record moves to 7-5-5 overall and 5-5-5 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while Tiffin's record moves to 11-2-2 and 10-1-2 in the G-MAC. The tie gives Findlay a single point in the conference standings, just enough to ensure that they remain ahead of Northwood University which could fall out of the top eight should Walsh and Kentucky Wesleyan both win later in the day.

Just ten minutes into the game, Senior Nick McCracken scored an unassisted goal putting the Oilers on the board and ahead by one. Three minutes later, Tiffin scored, tying the Oilers 1-1. The first half ended in a tie 1-all. Neither team found the back of net in the second 45 minutes.

Mitchell Hanosh took three shots and Nick McCracken took two during the game. David Hug and Carson Oberski each took one shot during play. Senior goalkeeper Andrew Boulton made a total of two saves during play.

Tiffin outshot Findlay 14-7 during the 90 minutes. The Dragons received 17 fouls to the Oilers 10 and were awarded three yellow cards to Findlay's two. The rivals were tied in saves 2-2.

The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament begins Saturday Nov. 4 and Findlay will be on the road. The opponent and time of the match are yet to be determined.
