The Game
After dropping the season-opener at the beginning of the month in Donnell Stadium, the Oilers hit the road for three straight games, the first time that has happened in the regular-season in more than ten years. Finally returning home, Findlay has won three straight games and is set to take on another G-MAC unbated in the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. The game, which will serve as Findlay's Homecoming Game, will kick off at 4:00 pm.
Last season these two teams met in Owensboro, Ky. in a game that served as KWC's Homecoming contest. The Oilers won 44-7.

Findlay Oilers (4-1, 3-0 G-MAC)
2023 Findlay Football Coaching Staff
Findlay is one of just two teams in the G-MAC that have not yet registered a conference loss, sitting at 3-0 in league action. Now crossing the midway point of the season, the Oilers are back on the road to battle the Northwood Timberwolves, a team that Findlay has played 24 times, splitting those matchups evenly at 12-12. The Oilers have won four straight in the series, however, but have not played in Midland, Michigan since 2014. In fact, Findlay's last road win against the Timberwolves came all the way back in 2002, an 18-17 victory, and the Oilers have just a 2-8 record against NU on their home turf. All that to say, the Orange and Black will be taking Saturday's contest very seriously despite the disparity in the team's current records.
Senior quarterback
Alec Bornhorst has proven himself to be a winner in his short time at Findlay. In games where he has taken at least half the reps, Bornhorst has a record of 8-1 in two years. This year he has completed 86-of-132 passes for 923 yards and six touchdowns. A big part of what makes him dangerous is his ability to run, carrying the ball 49 times for 337 yards and six touchdowns, tied for the most rushing touchdowns in the league.
The bulk of the damage on the ground comes from senior
Brian Benson who has 65 carries for 374 yards and four touchdowns this year. Benson has at least one rushing touchdown in each of his previous three games. Junior
Makya Matthews has also stepped it up after the injury to starter
Garret Clark. Matthews has run 23 times for 138 yards and has two rushing TDs while picking up 5.6 yards per carry.
On the receiving end, senior
Mike Rigerman has been a force at the tight end position. He has 23 catches for 313 yards and a team-high three touchdowns. Wide receiver
Bryan Hunt has 11 receptions for 188 yards and a score, as well.
Sophomore
Romaro Warren Jr. and sophomore
Sam Weihrauch lead the team with 39 and 36 tackles, respectively, and have combined for 10 tackles-for-loss in five games. Now on the defensive line, senior
Grey Brancifort is the leader at getting into opposing backfields and has made a team-high seven tackles-for-loss.Â
About the Opponent – Northwood Timberwolves (1-4, 1-2 G-MAC)
Northwood has struggled over the beginning portion of their season, winning just one game in five tries heading into Week 6. That lone win came in Week 4 against Lake Erie, a dominating 68-14 victory over the Storm. Despite taking a loss, NU fans might say their best performance of the year came against the long undefeated team in the conference, the Tiffin Dragons. The Timberwolves lost that contest by just seven points, the narrowest margin for Tiffin this season, and actually held a nine-point lead midway through the third quarter.
Under center, junior Jacob Barlage will take the snaps for Northwood as their quarterback. Barlage is 67-for-127 this year for 880 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions. His best performance of the season came against Lake Erie where he threw for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and completed passes at a 68% rate.
On the ground, senior Cashual Goldsmith will tote the rock most of the time. He has 68 carries for 333 yards and two scores this season and was a big factor in the team's success against Tiffin, rushing 15 times for 125 yards in that contest.
Defensively, junior Stephen Douglas is the leading tackler with 41 stops from his position at defensive back. Dougles also has two tackles for loss and an interception, a 100-yard pick-six against Tiffin. Linebacker Mbaimba Tunkara, a third team all-G-MAC pick last season, has 36 tackles and a team-high 8.5 tackles for loss while fellow linebacker Daniel Wynn has 26 tackles and 7.5 TFL.Â
