Findlay Succumbs to Northwood in Important G-MAC Matchup

Findlay, Ohio- With the regular season title still on the line, the University of Findlay women's volleyball team dropped a crucial matchup with the Northwood Timberwolves by a score of 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-16) on Friday. Nov. 10 inside of Croy Physical Education Center. With the loss, the Oilers fell to 27-7 on the year with a 14-4 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, Northwood improves to 18-11 with a 13-5 record in league play.

While the first set went in favor of the Orange and Black, the Timberwolves took total control of the final three sets. As a team the Oilers hit just .141, recording only 39 kills. Northwood racked up 60 kills and hit .290 in the match. 

Findlay was led by sophomore Alana Pohlman. She recorded eight kills, hitting .190. She also added four blocks on the night. Sophomore Lauren Foerster also recorded eight kills while hitting .294. 

Freshman Hannah Miller also recorded a team-high eight kills and hit .129 on the night. She added one block and eight digs. Leading the team in digs was junior Ava Doster. 

Defensively, Kenzie Hoelscher remained a threat up front for the Oilers recording a team-high five blocks. She also chipped in with four kills and two aces.

The Oilers will now turn their attention to tomorrow's contest, Saturday, Nov. 11 where they face the Chargers of Hillsdale in their final regular season match of the year. That contest is scheduled to begin at 4pm inside Croy Physical Physical Education Center. Before the match, Findlay will recognize their three seniors- Taylor Thompson, Alissa Rhodes, and Hannah Bruns.
