Grand Rapids, Mich. - The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team took a break from Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play this Tuesday, April 7 to travel to Michigan to face the Davenport University Panthers. Findlay fell by a score of 17-10 and with this loss the Oilers fall to 6-6 and the Panthers improve to 5-3.
Davenport scored the first goal of the game but less than a minute later and again two minutes after that, freshman
Karissa Allbright tied the game and put the Oilers ahead early in the first quarter. The Panthers went on to score seven more goals before the quarter ended, only allowing Findlay one.
The Oilers fought back in the second quarter, with Allbright and Shewbridge both scoring their third goals of the day and only allowing the Panthers to add two to their score, but it wasn't enough to pull ahead before the half ended 10-6 for DU.
The Davenport didn't back down in the second half, scoring seven goals before the game would end, only one of which during the fourth quarter. Findlay added four more goals to their score before the final whistle, but the effort wasn't enough to be victorious over the Panthers.
