The University of Findlay's baseball team has advanced to the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Baseball Championship. The 2024 Great Midwest Championships is a pool play tournament with two four-team brackets. Each pool winner moves to a one-game championship game on Saturday, May 11. Findlay, the third seed, is in Pool A.

The 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Baseball Championship will once again be held at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, May 8-11. The tournament will mark the 11th baseball championship. Eight teams will battle for the 2024 G-MAC crown and the opportunity to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.Â
In 2023, Northwood went 5-1 on the week en route to defeat Ohio Dominican in the championship game.
Trevecca Nazarene holds the G-MAC record with four league titles, followed by Kentucky Wesleyan, Tiffin, Hillsdale, Walsh, and Northwood each claiming one title.

Findlay Oilers (30-18, 17-9 G-MAC) | #3 Seed
2024 Findlay Baseball Coaching Staff
The Oilers are 27-20 on the season and hold a 21-10 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Findlay, who was picked fifth in the pre-season poll, finished the year third in the conference. The Oilers will face the sixth-seeded Ohio Dominican to open the tournament.Â
Findlay comes into the tournament with a .318 batting average, the conference's second-best. They've accumulated 475 hits, also ranking second. Their .472 slugging percentage is third in the conference. They boast the top fielding percentage in the league at .968.
Senior Logan Bragg leads the pitching staff with a 4.78 ERA recording 56 strikeouts in 75.1 innings pitched. Bragg was named G-MAC Athlete of the Week on Monday, March 25. The award came after leading Findlay to a nine-inning complete shutout against Cedarville.
Sophomore Carson Mellott leads the team with a 5-4 record and a 6.38 ERA. Fellow sophomore Ethan Mohr holds a 4-2 record and a 3.76 ERA with 37 strikeouts. Senior
Sebastian Jones is also a force on the mound for Findlay with a team-best 3.05 ERA. He has pitched 41.1 innings for the Orange and Black and struck out 39.
Leading Findlay's offense is senior Aiden Lao who is topping the team with a .359 batting average, the 14th-best in the conference. He leads the team with 66 hits and 49 runs. Lao is the newest member of the 200 Hit Club, securing that against Lake Erie in the final regular season contests of the year. In that series, Lao was 8-for-13 (.615) from the plate with two doubles and a triple. He scored seven runs and recorded six RBI. The Dublin, Ohio native also walked three times for an on-base percentage of .687.Â
Senior standout Cam Farrar is hitting .353 on the season while leading the team and the conference with 58 RBI. He has recorded 11 home runs this season and currently leads the G-MAC as the all-time home run leader with 41 in his career. He also holds the Findlay program records in games played (199), at-bats (689), runs scored (163), and runs batted in (196). The Clyde, Ohio has recorded 212 hits in his career, just shy of the program record 218 held by Rob Talpa (2001-05).
Senior Cole Kwiatkowski is hitting .349 while only striking out eleven times this season. He has recorded 51 hits, 43 runs, and 40 RBI.
Sophomore Casey Maruniak has the top slugging percentage on the team at .600. In just 120 at-bats he has 40 hits, 35 RBI, and 34 runs scored.
This is the second consecutive season that the OIlers have recorded 25+ wins, the first time in program history. This is just their third consecutive winning season in the past ten years.Â
