Indianapolis, Ind. - On Wednesday, June 26, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced University of Findlay women's golfer
Mary Kelly Mulcahy as the league's Female Athlete of the Year.
The junior from Lima, Ohio put together a dominant season, winning a program record seven tournaments this year, the most by any female golfer in the country. As a result she was named as the NCAA DII Player of the Year and first team all-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), helping the team to an appearance in the NCAA DII national semifinal.
At the G-MAC Championship, Mulcahy, who led the Oilers to the conference title, earned tournament medalist and was selected as the Women's Golf Player of the Year and first team all-conference, making her a two-time Player of the Year selection and three-time all-conference pick. She was also named G-MAC Athlete of the Week seven times during the year.
Mulcahy posted an individual record of 914-37-9 in 13 tournaments this season and did not finish outside the top-6 in any event all year until the national championship. She was either the winner or runner-up in 11 of 13 tournaments the entire year. During the course of the spring season, Mulcahy was ranked #1 in the country for 11 weeks by Clippd.com and finished the year ranked #4.
Most recently, Mulcahy was selected as a member of Team USA for the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup, the only non-Division I female chosen. As a member of Team USA, Mulcahy also earned entry into The Women's Amateur which was held in Portmarnock, Ireland.
