Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's soccer team kicked off their season by hosting the D'Youville Saints at DeHaven Field on Saturday, Sep. 7. After a hard-fought battle, the Oilers pulled ahead 2-1 recording their first win on the season. With this win the Oilers are now 1-0 while the Saints fall 0-2.
After a slow start in the first half the Oilers bounced back in the second. Just three minutes into the second half senior
David Cubillos would find the back of the net off an assist by sophomore
Tyler Pawlicki giving the Oilers a one goal lead. However, just ten minutes later DYU would come back and tie the match 1-1. With just six minutes left in play senior
Maciej Gaszynski scored a penalty kick goal locking in the win for the Oilers.

The UF offense was firing on all cylinders as they out shot DYU 12-10. Sophomore goalkeeper
Ethan Hensley recorded four saves to help shut down the Saints' offense.

The Oilers will return to DeHaven Field as they host the Roberts Wesleyan University Redhawks on Wednesday Sep. 11 at 1pm.
