Cross Country Kicks Off Postseason at G-MAC Championship in Midland, Mich.

Midland, Mich. – The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams got their postseason started on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship, held this year at the Fisher Family Trails in Midland, Michigan, hosted by Northwood University. Findlay's women finished third in the race while the men took fourth.

Leading the way for the Oilers women was sophomore Lauren Sattler, a runner who has paced Findlay all season long. Sattler secured first-team all-G-MAC honors with a sixth-place finish in the race, crossing the line in 21:39.7 making her the fourth-fastest 6k runner in program history. Her sixth-place finish is the best since Gabrielle Lawrence finished fourth at the event back in 2020.
 
Now the seventh-fastest 6k runner in program history, junior Olivia Fenbert cracked the top-ten to pick up first team all-league honors as well. At 14th through the first mile and a half, Fenbert worked her way up in the standings to finish tenth with a time of 21:58.1. This marks the first time that in program history that Findlay has had two runners finish top-ten at the G-MAC Championship meet.
 
Finishing 18th and 19th respectively were senior Sarah Reinhart and freshman Josilyn Welch. The two had times of 22:20.1 and 22:20.6, respectively, and rounded out Findlay's runners inside the top-20.
 
Senior Claire Bachman rounded out Findlay's scoring, finishing in 25th with a time of 22:40.4

Sophomore Asher Long was the first of a trio of second team all-G-MAC winners for the Oilers on Saturday, finishing 11th with a time of 24:41.3, making him the fifth-fastest 8k runner in program history. Close behind was sophomore Benjamin Hall who finished in a time of 24:47.8 and took 12th. Freshman Ty Rosengarten rounded out Findlay's top-15 finishers with a 15th-place finish in 24:52.0.
 
Landon Armstrong (23rd, 25:01.2) and Elijah Hadler (27th, 25:09.5) rounded out the scoring five, both contributing points to the team total.
 
Billy Dennison (33rd, 25:20.0) and Jaxen Durfey (36th, 25:22.7) added depth to the lineup, finishing just outside the scoring positions but helping push the team's overall placement.
 
Findlay now looks to the NCAA DII Midwest Regional which will be held in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday, Nov. 8.
