Findlay Deals Walsh Their First Conference Defeat | Secures Fifth Straight Sweep

North Canton, Ohio- Like they have in the last four contests, the University of Findlay volleyball team recorded a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-20) sweep this time over the Walsh University Cavaliers. The win, which came on Saturday, Nov. 1 inside the Cecchini Center, gives Findlay a 19-3 record on the season and a 10-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Meanwhile, Walsh falls to 19-6 and is handed their first conference loss, falling to 11-1 in the G-MAC.

Findlay set the tone early, jumping out to a 10-4 lead in the opening set. The Oilers extended their advantage to as much as eight before a 5-0 run from the home team cut the deficit to one. Undeterred, Findlay closed strong, scoring six of the final nine points to secure the 25-20 win.

The Oilers once again started strong in the second set, jumping out to an 11-5 lead. They stretched the advantage to 21-10 before Walsh mounted a late push, scoring 10 of the final 15 points, including a 6-1 run. Still, Findlay held firm to claim the 25-20 victory and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Findlay kept the momentum rolling, building an 11-7 lead that stretched to 18-12. The Oilers never looked back, closing out the set 25-20 to complete the sweep of the Cavaliers.
