Findlay Falls in Great Midwest Final | Concludes Season

Ashland, Ohio — The University of Findlay women's soccer team fell 3–0 to Ashland on Saturday, November 15 in the G-MAC Tournament final at Ferguson Field. Despite a challenging first half that saw the Eagles score three times, the Oilers responded with resilience, controlling long stretches of the match and creating consistent attacking pressure.

Ashland's early surge came through Dani Hicks, who completed a hat trick in just over 25 minutes. But from that point forward, Findlay settled in and dictated much of the game's rhythm.

The Oilers matched Ashland with eight total shots and owned an 8–6 advantage in corner kicks—an indicator of their territory and pressure, especially after halftime.

Senior forward Raegan Smith led the charge with two shots on goal, including a strong attempt in the 87th minute that forced a diving save.

Seniors Jenna Rybicki and sophomore Mari Stojcevski also pushed forward from the back line, each producing dangerous looks that challenged Ashland's defense.

Findlay's midfield play became a major factor as the match progressed. Juniors Allie Arnold and Sofia Cetrone, freshman Rylie Debacker, and sophomore Megan Hollar all contributed key attacking moments, helping the Oilers outshoot Ashland 6–2 in the second half. Their ability to win tackles, keep possession, and drive the ball into the final third kept Findlay on the front foot and prevented Ashland from re-establishing early momentum.

Defensively, the Oilers showed why they were one of the conference's stingiest units all season. Senior goalkeeper Cat Graves finished with a save and organized a back line that held Ashland scoreless for the final 59 minutes.

Veterans Kaylynn Simon, Avary Zeisloft, and Ashlyn Brown anchored a defensive effort that tightened significantly as the game went on, limiting quality chances and keeping Findlay within striking distance.

Though the deficit proved too steep to overcome, the Oilers carried themselves with the same composure and competitiveness that defined their year. Findlay concludes an impressive season at 12-4-4 overall (10-2-2 G-MAC)—a campaign marked by veteran leadership, a top-tier defensive identity, and another deep postseason run.
