Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's basketball team opened G-MAC competition on Thursday, Dec. 4th, with an impressive 88–74 win over Thomas More inside Croy Physical Education Center. With the victory, the Oilers improve to 6–1 overall and 1–0 in conference play, while the Saints fall to 3–2 (0–1 G-MAC).

Findlay delivered a balanced offensive performance, shooting 52.3 percent from the floor and receiving 47 points from the bench. After a tightly contested opening stretch that featured several lead changes, the Oilers closed the first half on a decisive run to take a 43–33 halftime advantage.

Sophomore Javonte Hill provided the spark off the bench, scoring nine points in the final minutes of the half—including a series of transition finishes that energized the Croy crowd. Senior Mekhi Elmore added steady scoring throughout the period, helping the Oilers build separation as Thomas More struggled from beyond the arc.

Findlay extended its lead early in the second half as senior Jagger Landers opened the frame with a three-pointer and a strong finish at the rim to push the margin to 15. 

The Oilers continued to control the pace from that point forward. Sophomore Steele Meister contributed 12 points and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, while seniors Max Roth and Josh Thorbahn added key baskets to maintain momentum.

Defensively, the Oilers forced 12 turnovers, converting them into 16 points to prevent the Saints from mounting a comeback. 

Thomas More was led by Kai Simpson with 15 points and six rebounds, while Carson Browne added 11.

A total of 12 Oilers scored in the victory, led by Elmore's 15 points, Hill's 11 on 5-for-5 shooting, and Meister's 12 points plus inside presence.

Findlay returns to action on Saturday, December 6 at 3 p.m., hosting Kentucky Wesleyan inside Croy Gymnasium.
