Orlando, Fla. – The University of Findlay men's tennis team took on Division I Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, March 12 in Orlando, Fla. continuing the team's spring trip down south. The Oilers came away with a 4-3 victory.
FDU picked up the doubles point, winning at first and third doubles.
Findlay got things tied up with a win at fifth singles from Dallas Ramsey, who earned a 6-2, 6-4 win. A win by Clement Andrieu at third singles put UF in the lead 2-1. At sixth singles,
Runa Kagoshima was a winner, keeping Findlay alive at 3-3.
It all came down to second singles where
Luigi Bove was in a battle that lasted almost three hours. Bove won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second in a tiebreaker. Bove controlled the third set, going on to a 6-3 win, sealing the victory for UF.
