Lacrosse Scores Season-High 17 Goals in Route of Timberwolves

Midland, Ohio – The University of Findlay lacrosse team was on the road on Saturday, March 29 for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contest against the Malone University Pioneers. The Oilers jumped ahead in the first quarter and went on to win by a score of 17-9. That victory gives UF a 3-9 record on the year with a 2-1 mark in G-MAC play while Northwood, in its' first year as a program, falls to 3-6 and 0-3 in the league.

Freshman Cora West scored first, six minutes into the game, but Northwood tied it up just two minutes later.

Another goal by west and one more by junior Tessa Chuba put the Oilers in front 3-1 through 15 minutes of play.

Findlay would eventually lead 7-3 at halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Oilers ripped off six unanswered scores to take a 13-3 lead and initiating the running clock. Three more scores in the fourth put the game on ice as UF would cruise to the eight-goal victory.

The Oilers' 17 goals are the most they have scored this season.

Between the two schools there were 75 shots taken, 41 of which were by Findlay.

West led the way, scoring a season-high six goals on seven shots. Freshman Eloise Kolofer scored five goals while Chuba had three goals, three assists, three ground balls, and four caused turnovers.

Findlay will be back in action on Friday, April 4, a home game against the Ursuline College Arrows. That contest will begin at noon.
