Findlay's Season Ends in Great Midwest Championship

Ashland, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team saw their season come to a close on Saturday, May 3, following a 20-3 loss to top-seeded Ashland in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship game. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Oilers have reached the conference final, but once again fell short of the title. Findlay finishes the season with an overall record of 9-11 and a 6-2 mark in G-MAC play. With the victory, Ashland secures the conference's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Ashland came out strong, scoring seven goals in the opening seven minutes to take early control of the game. Findlay responded late in the first quarter, narrowing the gap to six thanks to goals from sophomores Rebecca Chmiel and Karissa Allbright. However, Ashland quickly regained momentum with two goals in the final minute, extending their lead to 10-2 heading into the second quarter.

Findlay's final goal came early in the second quarter, as junior Tessa Chuba found the net in the fifth minute to cut the deficit to 12-3. However, Ashland maintained full control, adding eight unanswered goals to seal a dominant 20-3 victory.

Rebecca Chmiel, Brinlee Barry, and Carol Weber were all named to the G-MAC All Tournament Team.

This concludes the 2025 lacrosse season.
