Lock Haven, Pa. - The University of Findlay men's soccer team traveled to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to take on the Lock Haven University Bald Eagles for a match-up on Saturday, Sept. 13. After 90 minutes of play, the Oilers came out on top with a 2-0 victory securing their first win of the 2025 season. With the win, the Oilers record now sits at 1-2-0 while the Bald Eagles fall to at 1-2-0.
The Oilers broke through late in the first half when junior
Carson Oberski found the net in the 42nd minute, finishing off a build-up assisted by senior
Jeroen Van Der Veen and freshman
Gabe Toops. This goal marks Oberski's second goal of the 2025 season. Findlay carried that 1-0 lead into halftime despite a late push from Lock Haven.
Lock Haven responded with more pressure in the second half, generating seven shots, including two on goal, but Findlay goalkeeper
Keegan Grant was sharp, recording three saves to preserve the clean sheet shutout.
The Oilers sealed the win in the 86th minute when senior
Tom Middleham converted his first goal as an Oiler off an assist from junior
Tyler Pawlicki, doubling the advantage.
Findlay outshot Lock Haven 12-9 and held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Both teams played a physical match, combining for 22 fouls and six yellow cards.
The Oilers return to action on Thursday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Cedarville to face the Yellow Jackets in their G-MAC season opener.
