Williams’ Hat Trick Leads Oilers Past Kentucky Wesleyan

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's soccer team secured their first home win of the season with a 3-0 shutout over Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, September 20 at DeHaven Field. The win moves the Oilers to 2-2-2 overall and 1-1-0 in G-MAC play, while the Panthers fall to 0-5-1 and 0-2-0 in the league.

Freshman Addison Williams opened the scoring in the 26th minute, calmly converting a penalty kick to give the Oilers the early advantage. Just six minutes later, she struck again, finishing a setup from junior Morgan Sparks and senior Kaitlyn Siefert to double Findlay's lead. The junior forward completed her hat trick in the 44th minute, this time capitalizing on a feed from sophomore Avary Zeisloft to send the Oilers into halftime with a commanding 3-0 edge.

This is the Oilers' second hat trick of the season, following senior Ava Ayers' three-goal performance against Seton Hill on September 4.

Findlay's offense was relentless in the first half, racking up 13 shots before the break and finishing the match with a 21-5 advantage, including a 9-2 edge in shots on target. The Oilers also held a 5-1 margin in corner kicks.

In the second half, Findlay maintained control of the match, keeping pressure on Kentucky Wesleyan's defense while rotating players throughout the lineup. The Oilers generated several quality chances, including shots from freshman Rylie Debacker and senior Sydney Noble

The Oilers finished the second half with consistent possession, securing their first home victory of the season with a comfortable 3-0 result.

Defensively, the Oilers were solid in preserving the shutout. Senior Goalkeeper Audrey Gibson-Zweifel made two saves across 90 minutes of action, while the back line limited Kentucky Wesleyan to just three second-half shots.

Sparks and Siefert each tallied an assist to go along with Williams' offensive explosion.

The Oilers will aim to carry their momentum on the road when they travel to Midland, Michigan, to take on the Northwood Timberwolves on Thursday, September 25 at 4 p.m.
