Men's Soccer Wins Big Over Ohio Dominican

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's soccer team picked up its' second Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) win of the season on Saturday, Sep. 27 with a convincing 5-1 win over the Ohio Dominican Panthers. That victory gives UF a record of 3-3-1 on the year with a 2-1-1 record in the G-MAC while ODU falls to 2-5-1 with a 2-2 record in the league.

The Oilers opened the scoring 22 minutes into the game on a cross from junior Carson Oberski to graduate senior Tom Middleham who worked his way behind the defense and found the back of the net.

Just three minutes later, graduate senior Jeroen Van Der Veen scored his first goal of the season to give Findlay a 2-0 advantage.

Findlay would stretch the lead to 4-0 before the Panthers finally scored. It would be too little too late as the home team went on to a dominating victory.

The Oilers out shot the Panthers 19-to-9, keeping the pressure on ODU the entirety of the match. 14 of Findlay's 19 shots were on goal.

Middleham finished the game with two goals, picking up another in the second half. Oberski, who had the assists on the first score, picked up a goal of his own in the second half. Freshman Josh Brennan also scored in the flurry of goals.

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 2 when the Walsh Cavaliers come to Findlay for a 1:00 pm game.
