Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Findlay Defeats Ohio Dominican 4-0

The University of Findlay women's soccer team earned a 4-0 shutout victory over Ohio Dominican University on Saturday, Sept. 27 at DeHaven Field. With the result, the Oilers improve to 3-2-3 on the season and 2-1-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play, while the Panthers fall to 0-6-2 overall and 0-3-1 in conference action.

The Oilers controlled the match early, scoring three times in the opening 25 minutes. Senior Sydney Noble netted her fourth goal of the season in the 7th minute after finishing a pass from senior Ava Ayers. 

In the 14th minute, senior Raegan Smith tallied her first goal of the season for the Oilers with an assist from sophomore Avary Zeisloft to extend the lead. 

Noble struck again in the 25th minute adding her fifth goal of the season, converting off a penalty kick to give Findlay a 3-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Findlay continued its strong play in the second half. Less than four minutes after the break, Zeisloft recorded a goal in the 49th minute, pushing the Oilers' lead to four.

Defensively, Findlay limited Ohio Dominican to just one shot on goal, which was saved by senior goalkeeper Audrey Gibson-Zweifel in the second half. The Oilers finished the match with a 19-1 advantage in shots, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal. Findlay also generated six corner kicks while conceding only one.

The Oilers will play again at home on Thursday, October 2, to host Walsh with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m. at DeHaven Field.
