Oilers Open Season with Dominant Win at Seton Hill

Indiana, Pa. – The University of Findlay women's soccer team opened their 2025 season in dominant fashion, defeating the Seton Hill Griffins 5-0 on Thursday, Sept. 4th. The convincing victory marked a strong opening-day statement for the Oilers. With the win, Findlay starts their 2025 campaign 1-0-0. Meanwhile, Seton Hill begins their season 0-1-0.

Senior Ava Ayers put Findlay on the board in the 11th minute, finishing a setup from fellow seniors Payton Miller and Raegan Smith. The Oilers' attack kept rolling from there, with Sydney Noble adding a goal just five minutes after. Findlay did not slow down in the second half as Ayers completed a hat trick with two more scores. Putting the game on ice was senior Paige Smucker netting her first career goal to cap the win.

Orchestrating the offense was senior Raegan Smith, who recorded two assists in the match.

Strong in goal was senior Cat Graves who posted a shutout, turning away the only shot on goal from the Griffins. After recording two shutouts last season, Graves earns the third shutout of her career.

Findlay returns to action Saturday, Sept. 6th at 1 p.m., remaining in Indiana, Pa. to take on the Indiana University (Pa.) Crimson Hawks.
