Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's basketball team never trailed on Thursday, January 15, using a dominant opening quarter and steady defensive pressure to earn a 70–59 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) victory over Lake Erie College at the Croy Physical Education Center. The Oilers improved to 7–8 overall (3–5 G-MAC), while the Storm fall to 3–12 (2–7 G-MAC).
Findlay set the tone early with suffocating defense, holding Lake Erie scoreless for the first seven minutes while forcing multiple early turnovers. The Oilers jumped out to a 13–0 lead behind baskets from juniors
MacKenzie Schulz and
Aubri Spicer and senior

Taylor Stanley combined for nine points in the quarter as Findlay carried a 53–40 lead into the final 10 minutes.
Lake Erie attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, but each push was answered by timely baskets from the Oilers. Ziehler scored six points in the final frame, including a fast-break layup and a pair of free throws, while Findlay went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe down the stretch to close out the win.
Ziehler led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and a perfect 6-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. She also recorded eight rebounds and a game-high four steals. Spicer provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while Stanley and Schulz each finished with 10 points. Schulz was perfect from beyond the arc, going 2-of-2, and Stanley added six rebounds.
