Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Drops Road Match at Ashland | Fall 4-0

Ashland, OH – The University of Findlay men's soccer team traveled to Ashland on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for a contest against the Ashland Eagles. Findlay fell to the Eagles by a final score of 4-0, dropping their record to 7-2-1 (6-2-1) on the season. The Eagles move to 4-6 (3-4) after today's match. 

The Eagles scored their first goal in the 36th minute from the penalty spot after the Oilers conceded a foul in the box just before the half, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into the break. 

Ashland continued the scoring in the 52nd minute to give them a 2-0 lead. Shortly after, senior Carson Oberski received a red card, forcing the Oilers down to ten men for the remaining 31 minutes of the match. The Eagles would capitalize, adding two more goals in the 70th and 75th minutes, making the score 4-0. After several attempts throughout the second half, the Oilers were unable to recover, falling to the Eagles by a score of 4-0. 

Despite the scoreline, the Oilers outshot the Eagles, 17-14, while also leading in corner kicks, 8-2. Senior Leo Egerer led Findlay in total shots on the day with five. Senior goalkeeper Ethan Hensley collected five saves to his name on the day.  

With today's result, Findlay now sits in T-5th place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) standings with seven matches left to play. The Oilers return to action at home on October 8 at 1pm when they welcome the Cedarville Yellow Jackets to DeHaven Field.
