Oilers Advance to G-MAC Tournament Semifinals | Beat Walsh 1-0

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's soccer team advanced in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Walsh University on Saturday, Oct. 31. The third-seeded Oilers eliminated the sixth-seeded Cavaliers in the G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals which took place at DeHaven Field. With the win, Findlay improves to 13-2-4 on the year and will advance to the semifinals for the fifth consecutive season. Meanwhile, Walsh concludes the year with a 7-10-1 mark.

Findlay controlled the attack from the start, finishing with seven shots and three on goal thanks mostly to sophomores Liliana Garza and Addison Williams. The Oilers broke through in the 30th minute as Garza found a wide open net thanks to junior Avary Zeisloft and Williams.

Defensively, the Oilers matched their attacking intensity. Though Walsh generated just four shots, Findlay's back line limited them mostly to low-danger opportunities, allowing just two shots on target.

Fifth-year goalkeeper Cat Graves recorded her 12th shutout of the season, making two saves, including a crucial stop in the 81st minute to preserve the Oilers' lead and secure the victory.

With the win, the Oilers advance to the 2026 G-MAC Women's Soccer Championship Semifinal where they will face the second-seeded Eagles of Ashland. The game will take place Thursday, Nov. 5 at 4pm at the Yellow Jacket Soccer Complex on the campus of Cedarville University.
