Women's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight | Beat Malone 4-1

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated Malone, 4-1, on Thursday, October 8, extending its win streak to four consecutive games. With the victory, the Oilers improved to 8-2-2 overall and 5-1-2 in G-MAC play.

Findlay wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as sophomore Addison Williams scored just 13 seconds into the match. Malone responded 18 minutes later to even the score at 1-1. The teams remained tied heading into halftime, with Findlay holding an 11-3 advantage in shots.

The Oilers regained the lead early in the second half when fifth-year Raegan Smith found the back of the net off an assist from junior Megan Hollar. Findlay continued to apply pressure, scoring two more unanswered goals to secure the 4-1 victory.

Fifth-year Meghan Coakley scored her first career goal for the Oilers to make it 3-1, with assists from senior Taylir Lynam and junior Avary Zeisloft. Hollar then capped the scoring with Findlay's fourth goal, assisted by Coakley.

The Oilers dominated the statistical sheet, out shooting the Pioneers 26-5 and forcing eight saves over the 90 minutes.

With her goal, Williams now has eight goals on the season, while Smith has contributed six goals.

Findlay will return to action Saturday, October 10, when the Oilers travel to Crestview Hills, Kentucky, to take on Thomas More.
