#4 Oilers Dominate #30 Davenport in Final Non-Conference Dual

Findlay, Ohio - The fourth-ranked University of Findlay women's tennis team showcased its depth on Sunday morning, securing a dominant 6-1 victory over No. 30 Davenport University at the YMCA East Branch. The Oilers are now 8-1 and have won seven consecutive matches.

Findlay struck first by securing the tightly contested doubles point. Audrey Ouellet and Polina Zaytseva picked up a quick 6-3 victory at the No. 2 flight over Addison Lind and Maja Sandstrom. After Davenport answered with a 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot, all eyes turned to the top court. The Oilers' 40th-ranked duo of Ivanova Lucero and Maria Valentina Salek Rivero delivered, clinching the doubles point with a 7-5 triumph over Amy Bloch and Sienna Opray.

Carrying a 1-0 lead into singles, the Oilers quickly put the match out of reach with a flurry of straight-set victories.

Lucero was the first to finish, dismantling Lotte Federski 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 flight. Zaytseva followed shortly after with a steady 6-3, 6-4 win over Opray at No. 3 singles. Salek Rivero then clinched the overall team victory at the No. 2 spot, defeating Bloch 6-4, 6-3.

Maria Batinic, stepping up to the No. 1 flight, turned in a strong performance to defeat Skye Vandeleur 6-3, 6-4. Ivana Gombitova wrapped up Findlay's scoring in a No. 6 singles clash, shaking off a second-set stumble to outlast Lind 6-4, 6-7, 10-8 in a match tiebreaker.

Davenport's lone point of the day came at No. 4 singles, where Sandstrom managed to edge Ouellet 7-5, 6-4.

Findlay begins conference play against Cedarville on Saturday, March 21 at home.
