Flushing, N.Y. – The University of Findlay men's tennis team fell to undefeated Queens College 7-0 on Monday, March 2, at the QC Indoor Tennis Bubble. The loss moves the Oilers to 2-5 on the season, while the Knights improve to 5-0.
Findlay's lone victory of the afternoon came in doubles play, where Matthis Veniard and Soh Kuyama defeated Lucas Foix Sotos and Samuel Linck 6-4 at the No. 2 flight. However, Queens College claimed the doubles point with wins at the first and third spots.
In singles action, the Knights completed the sweep by taking all six matches. Matthis Veniard put up the toughest fight for the Oilers at No. 3 singles, rallying to force a third set before ultimately falling 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to Tim Andersson. Clement Andrieu (No. 1) and Soh Kuyama (No. 2) also played tight matches but suffered straight-set defeats.
Findlay wraps up it's spring trip on Wednesday, March 4 against Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.
