Indianapolis, Ind. – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its' postseason awards for wrestling season on Thursday, March 26. The University of Findlay had four athletes on the list.
Places on the all-conference teams are determined by a wrestler's finish at the G-MAC Championship meet which was hosted back on January 31 in Owensboro, Ky. Weight class champions earn first team all-conference while runners-up earn second team all-conference.
Junior Nate Knowlton and grad student Ashton Anderson, who won the 133 pound and 141 pound divisions, respectively, are each first team selections for the Roughnecks.
Knowlton went on to cap the year with a 23-8 record, earning three wins by fall and eight by tech fall. Anderson would finish with a 14-4 record, earning five wins by fall and seven by tech fall.
Senior Billy Smith, who spent much of the year ranked among the best in the country at his weight, was the conference runner-up at 125 pounds. He joins sophomore Micah Cotrell who was runner-up at 149 pounds as Findlay's pair of second team selections.
