Oilers in Fifth After Opening Day at Greenwood Men’s Invitational

Greenville, South Carolina- The University of Findlay men's golf team opened their spring championship season Monday, March 9, at the Greenwood Men's Invitational hosted by Lander University at Greenwood Country Club in Greenville, South Carolina.

The No. 46 Oilers sit in solo fifth place after 36 holes at 4-under par, posting rounds of 285 (-3) and 287 (-1). Grand Valley State University (No. 1) and Flagler College (No. 32) lead the field at 12-under and 13-under through two rounds.

Senior Luke Metzger led the way for the Orange and Black in the opening round, firing a 68 (-4) before following with a 74 (+2). Freshman Ross Dietz opened his spring campaign with back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1). Metzger and Dietz are tied for 15th individually at 2-under for the tournament.

Senior Zach Miller delivered a steady performance, carding a 74 (+2) in the first round and a 70 (-2) in the second to finish the day at even par.

Sophomore Cahle Roth posted rounds of 72 (E) and 75 (+3), while junior Colin Schadek recorded rounds of 79 (+7) and 72 (E).

Competing as individuals for Findlay were sophomore Carson Foltz (79, 73), freshman Luke Siefker (77, 75), and Cody Widener (75, 80).
