Lacrosse Falls in G-MAC Semifinals | Wraps Up 2026 Campaign

Ashland, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team saw their season come to a close on April 30 in the semifinal round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament as they fell 14-8 to Tiffin University. The loss gives the Oilers a 9-8 record for the 2026 campaign.

The Oilers fell behind by a score of 2-0 in the early minutes of the game before closing the quarter with a goal to cut the lead to 2-1 after one period of play. The Dragons however put the game out of reach in the second as they outscored the Oilers by a 7-2 margin to head into halftime with a comfortable 9-3 lead, which proved too much to overcome.

Individually, freshmen Kathryn Martin and Carrigan McCormack led the way for Findlay with two goals apiece. Juniors Rebecca Chmiel and Karissa Albright added goals as well while sophomore's Mylee Cain and Amelia Dillon scored as well.

Senior Brinlee Barry caused two turnovers to lead the defense while sophomore's Josie Owens and Caroline Weber made four and three saves apiece, respectively.
