#3 Findlay in Front at NCAA East Regional | Duflo Leads the Way

Findlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay women's golf team sits atop the leaderboard at the NCAA Division II East Regional following the opening day of play on Monday, May 4. Hosting the event at Findlay Country Club, the Oilers navigated challenging conditions as inclement weather forced the three-day, 54-hole tournament to be condensed into 36-holes on day one, with more weather challenges expected throughout the week. Ranked third in the nation by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), Findlay posted rounds of 299 (+11) and 306 (+18) for a 36-hole total of 605 (+29), holding an eleven-shot lead over Grand Valley State.

Junior Ashleigh Duflo, the defending champion, leads the individual standings after firing back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1). She sits at 146 (+2), holding a two-stroke advantage heading into the final 18 holes.

Freshman Emma Meyers and senior Hayley Dye both cracked the top five on day one. Meyers recorded the low round of the tournament with an even-par 72 before adding a 78 (+6) to sit in solo third at 150 (+6). Dye followed closely behind, posting rounds of 73 (+1) and 78 (+6) for a 36-hole total of 151 (+7), placing her in a tie for fourth.

Senior Ellie Yeazell is tied for 19th after rounds of 81 (+9) and 77 (+5), totaling 158 (+14). Sophomore Gracie James rounded out the lineup, carding consecutive rounds of 83 (+11) for a 166 (+22), putting her in a tie for 60th.

Findlay will look to add another East Regional title to its résumé, having previously won in 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Play resumes Tuesday, May 5, with the Oilers aiming for a top-four finish to secure a spot in the NCAA Division II National Championship in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, scheduled for May 12–16.
