Gabby Woods Goes Back-to-Back | Wins Ohio Women's Open

Springboro, Ohio - University of Findlay alumni Gabby Woods ('24) put together another dominating performance at the Ohio Women's Open on Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, winning the event by scoring rounds of 69 (-2) and 67 (-4) to win by three shots. Her mark of 136 (-6) matches her score from last year when she also won the event, making her a back-to-back champion. The tournament was played at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio, the same course as a year ago.

A two-time winner of the Women's Ohio State Amateur, Woods made just two bogeys in 36 holes of play, the fewest in the field. On Saturday, Woods had a clean card, making four birdies en route to a final-round 67.

Woods, who capped a historic career at UF with an individual win at the NCAA DII National Championship, is currently pursuing a career in professional golf and plays on the Annika Women's All Pro Tour.

The tournament champion was not the only player with Findlay ties to participate in the event. Senior Ellie Yeazell had rounds of 72 (+1) and 70 (-1) to finish in fifth with a score of 142 (E). Also in the top ten, sophomore Gracie James finished T8 after rounds of 72 (+1) and 74 (+3). Right behind, in 11th, freshman Emma Myers posted a pair of 74s (+3).

Incoming freshman Gracyn Alexander had a good day on Saturday, firing a final round 75 (+4) to secure a T24 finish at 155 (+13). Junior Audrey Keplar rounded out Findlay's players with a T35 finish with scores of 82 (+11) and 79 (+8).
