Grand Haven, Mich. – The University of Findlay women's golf team opened play at American Dunes Golf Club on Monday, September 7, finishing the opening round with a team score of 321 (+33). Competing in the Folds of Honor Collegiate, the Oilers earned a spot in the prestigious event by taking home the win at the Folds of Honor Challenge last fall.
The Oilers were led by Ashleigh Duflo, who carded a six-over 78 to pace Findlay in the opening round. Duflo recorded a 36 on the front nine before finishing with a 42 on the back nine.
Ellie Yeazell followed with an eight-over 80, while Gracie James posted an 81 (+9). Emma Myers rounded out the Oilers' team score with an 82 (+10).
Rounding out the lineup for the Oilers was Mia Ringger, who finished with an 89 (+17).
Findlay's four scoring rounds totaled 321 strokes, placing the Oilers at +33 heading into the next round.
